Donald Hecht, CPA



Donald graduated from Baruch College in 1954 with a BBA degree. He later graduated from New York University law school with a JD degree. Donald began his accounting career with the firm of Clarence Rainess and Company in 1957 and after six years, he left to become CFO of one of its clients in the textile business. In 1966, in partnership with his brother he formed Hecht and Company. For over 50 years, Donald was in charge of the audit practice and managing partner of the firm. On November 1, 2018, Donald and his entire staff combined that practice with LM Cohen & Co. Donald elected to become a Partner Emeritus tasked with integrating and expanding the combined practices. During his career, Donald has actively supported many charities and currently is the honorary president of the Chabad House at Rutgers University.
